E-mail is integrated in B.I.S. for:

• Inquiry letters - to suppliers
• Product information - to clients
• Any document (quotation, pro-forma invoice, purchase order, invoice, packing list) as an attachment *
• Scanned documents (China Form A etc.) - to clients

E-mail is implemented aside of your main email program, but requires an active internet connection in order to post messages. B.I.S. will not initiate dial-up procedures but will take advantage of an already open internet connection. 

The Setup program will register the email libraries on your Windows 9x, NT 4.0, 2000 desktop. Individual host name has to be entered in the program initialization sequence. Please contact your system administrator for details on your email host.

For system administrators: entering the host name

If the proper host has not been entered B.I.S. will detect and display the following message:

Normal operations can continue without the use of email.

If the host is not found when trying to send an email the error message will be:

If everything is correctly set an email edit box will appear allowing the user to edit from, to, subject and message before sending. Depending on which email feature has been used B.I.S. will automatically attach the required documents to the email message.

By clicking any of the buttons you are entered in the Address Book, which will allow in a graphical manner choosing email addresses from suppliers/clients or personal tables.

Please look up the User Setup module of this help for help on how to enter email addresses for each user of the system.

TIP:   For sending an email message to multiple recipients, type the recipients email addresses separated by comas.

If for any reason (i.e. invalid email addresses, no connection etc.) the message has not been sent B.I.S. will display a warning message and the process has to repeated, as opposed to:

which will confirm the transmittal of the message.

WARNING:   There are no queuing features in the present version, so if a message is not transmitted please reenter & resend it.
