B.I.S. is structured around import-export operations and contains specific modules designed for operating your Trading and/or Shipping operations in an integrated fashion.

The software framework is based on forms with multiple access instances. A typical form will include a data view/edit/add screen named NORMAL  a a quick view/find screen named BROWSE.

By clicking on the tabs you can switch between the two allowed modes.

BROWSE 

In this mode the total collection of records (restricted by user rights) can be displayed and queried. Select with the mouse cursor a column of data that you would like to query and hit CTRL & F. A quick search window will open and you will have to enter the search parameters.

The top of the window will describe the field previously selected.

TIP: To change the display order in Normal mode switch to browse and execute a search based on the new order that you wish.

The search result will be highlighted and displayed in the browse window.

TIP: To quickly display all information about a selected record hit ESC.

NORMAL

Normal mode is used for most operations inside B.I.S.

The framework includes navigation, search, editing, adding, reporting and audit features. Some features will be disabled based on the current stat

Navigation Buttons

These buttons are used for navigating the active open view. By clicking each of the button a specific operation will take place and the result will be displayed by refreshing the active "normal" window.

If the bottom/top of the file is reached the respective navigation button will be disabled:

Navigating the open view is done in the order established in Browse mode

Seek

This function is used whenever the user can perform a search based on multiple parameters and as opposed to the quick search that is performed in Browse mode this is sequential (i.e. slower) search.

The framework will highlight the fields in which the user is allowed to enter search parameters and wait for confirmation.

In this case search will be performed based on Country code = "F" AND Currency code = "FF"

If the search is successful the requested record will be displayed in the Normal window. If not a warning message will be displayed and the pointer will be positioned at the end of file.

TIP: To change the display order in Normal mode switch to browse and execute a search based on the new order that you wish.

Print

Print feature will display a preview of the document you were displaying on the active screen. From the preview you can navigate multiple pages, redirect to printer, zoom and cancel printing.

Printing will be executed on the Windows default printer unless the printer for the specific session has been changed from within Control/Printer Setup.

TIP: To FAX a document change the default printer to your Fax driver and follow the wizard on-screen instructions.

TIP: To change the default printer use Windows Printer Setup procedures.

New/Edit/Delete

All documents data entry/editing operations will be performed in transactions. By hitting these buttons you gain access to the data fields in normal window.

Minimum requirements are implemented for each specific document and specific business rules are implemented behind the scenes (i.e. Can not delete a document if a child document has been entered). For customization with these business rules please contact our technical support.

Audit

Every operation in the database is logged by user and the time it has been posted. This button allows the System administrator to check this information.
