Business Information System

This section deals with the warehouse configuration. It is a control item and it can be customized to better suit your needs. B.I.S. will automatically recommend a rectangle type split.

The lot position (isle) is identified by a two characters code named "LOT POSITION"

In order to identify a location in your warehouse you could name your walls (if you use them for storage purposes) by using the "*" symbol, and rectangles defined by the letters of alphabet and by numbers.

B.I.S. will generate a maximum of  A to Z and 1 to 9 combinations if required. By using the configuration will be automatically generated. Further manual operations are required. If your warehouse doesn't consist of 24 columns and 10 rows of storage space please delete all the un-necessary records.

Furthermore the use of button is prohibited if already a configuration is in place for a specific warehouse. So to change a configuration for a warehouse by the use of the button you must first delete all entries for a specific warehouse. The delete process is restricted by use of the warehouse (i.e. if products are stored in a lot from the warehouse)

TIP: To check lot availability use the inventory module

Each lot should have a preferred product category. This is the place where business rules are translated for use in B.I.S. A drop down combo-box will allow entering a product category which has already been entered in the Product categories section.

Please try to enter product categories, preferred in product associations, for adjacent lot positions

B.I.S will use this information whenever an entry in inventory is performed to automatically recommend a lot position for storage.

If another storage schema is employed in your existing warehouse please feel free to enter records as per you layout.
