| Product tracking is implemented based on a
unique code name reference number. You can use internal reference number or
supplier reference number or client reference number for this unique code as
long as the uniqueness is maintained. B.I.S. generates a reference number based
on the time a new product is added to the database. Although this is a method to
preserve uniqueness it is not recommended to keep those numbers, instead use
your own coding structure. Client reference number can be entered in the
"Catalog number" field and used as an alternate means of presentation.
Products are specific for each point of sales and in the case of the same product exported from various point of sales same reference number can be used. Each product has a supplier attached to it. If
you have multiple suppliers for the same product please use different reference
numbers for those products. B.I.S. allows changing supplier attached to a
certain product or "reuse of a reference number" by changing the
supplier code attached. If by any means you need to know supplier details use
the Product name should be a descriptor of what the product stands for as it will be used in all the documents following. B.I.S. allows tracking of product names in two distinct languages. Product name field should be in the same language as the B.I.S. version you are currently using (i.e. English) and the next field can be in any language (i.e. French) as long as it is setup in the initialization file by a system administrator. The picture of the product should always be
attached and stored in the specific point of sales folder. To change a picture
for a specific product you could type the location of the scanned file on your
network
If the product is in the textile category please click the textile checkbox as special requirements will be tracked by B.I.S. Those are: Label requirements (i.e. washing symbols)

appear to flag down the warning and no picture will be printed on all associated
documents.
